About Sharon
I was born in Hong Kong and spent my early education years there. My family and I migrated to Sydney, Australia when I was 10, where I completed my primary school education. I completed my high school education in Hong Kong and returned back to Sydney to obtain my undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), majoring in Biotechnology.
I have always been interested in scientific research, hence I proceeded to obtain my Honours degree in Microbiology with CSIRO/UNSW. I then moved to Melbourne and started my PhD degree in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University.
During my research years, I was fortunate to present my findings at national and international conferences, and publish my papers in internationally-recognized scientific journals.
I am passionate about teaching and have been employed as a sessional teaching associate by Monash University since 2018. I have repeatedly scored very highly in students' evaluations and have maintained professional relationships with my students after the semester has concluded. I previously acted as an academic reference for three undergraduate students in the application for higher degrees.

I am a final year PhD student and have been employed as a teaching associate since 2018. I have taught a wide range of Science and Biomedical undergraduates in the topic of biochemistry, molecular biology and microbiology.
A quick quiz will be used to determine my students' level of understanding. The lessons are then structured from reviewing concepts and doing practice questions. A typical lesson duration is 50 min.
My lessons are suitable for students ranging from high school students to 1st and 2nd year university undergraduates.
I am fluent in English and Cantonese.
