About Ela

Ela Salinas attained her voice teaching certification at New York Vocal Coaching by Justin Stoney.

Her path of musicianship started with singing in a classical choir (Triglavski zvonovi, Slovenia), classical guitar training (Glasbena sola Jesenice) and advanced to pop singing (Studio Osminka).

At Slovenia's got talent 2013 she got into semi-finals with her original song.

Her performances as a vocalist and an instrumentalist included local and regional festivals, cultural and sports events, such as Vegafest (Slovenia), Planica World Ski Jumps (Slovenia), MANO festival (Germany), S.O.S. festival (Slovenia); etc.

In November 2025 she performed alongside Katja Koren and Big Band Slovenija, singing back vocals.
At the moment she is teaching voice lessons in Los Angeles, as well as performs on private events.

About the lesson

I am very good at mixing fun with hard work. I listen to each student and incorporate their wishes into my teachings, so you get exactly what you want out of your lessons. I always prepare extra for every student. I consider my students my friends as it is rewarding to watch them all grow with my help. I am simple and compassionate. I will teach you about your breathing, registers, vibrato… you will have a strong, healthy voice and a great ear. You will know how to take care of your instrument, how to practice, what to practice and when. For anyone that is interested in reading music or learning more about music theory I will happily teach you. My teachings are designed for beginners (children & adults) intermediate and advanced. Let’s have some fun!

When did you first develop a passion for music and your favorite instrument?
I first remember enjoying singing in pre-school. The teacher loved to play music for us and I very much enjoyed singing along.
Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?
There are so many great ones. At the moment I could loop Jacob Collier's "Little Blue" into infinity.
Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.
I think the best thing that you would get out of working with me is a skill set that will enable you to really know and trust your voice while exploring different styles and having fun applying them! There's nothing that feels better than freedom of expression while knowing that you are doing it well!
What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?
I think every instrument has its challenges, I can only speak on the voice. Mastering your cord co-ordinations while taking care of yourself - physically and emotionally is extremely important. After all, we are in different states all the time. Knowing yourself is key.
What are your keys to success?
Overall health, practice, kindness and perseverance.
Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favorite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.
Jacob Collier - to pick his brain around harmonies, creating sound etc. Tori Kelly - her vocal mastery amazes me and I would love to discuss her vocal technique. Mozart - he is my favorite composer and I adore his work - would love to be inspired by him.
Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.
I often think of the silence between notes as an important part of music.
What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?
I am good at creating a safe and non-judgmental environment and I truly care about people's voices.
