About Kate

I am currently a medical student who achieved high grades at both GCSE and A-levels and I am looking to help other students to perform as well. I am a patient and friendly person and am prepared to put in the effort to help my students achieve their target grades and above. I will aim to help students become more confident on a topic or subject, helping them to gain knowledge and then apply this in questions to succeed in exams. I thoroughly enjoy maths, sciences and geography and I hope I can pass down this passion for the subjects to my students as well. Prior to starting university, I took part in many volunteering opportunities which I believe have improved my communication and teamwork skills so I am confident that I can communicate and teach my students effectively whilst also having a positive rapport.

About the lesson

I will aim to help students become more confident on a topic or subject, helping them to gain knowledge and then apply this in questions to succeed in exams. I do this by first laying out everything that the student knows, often in the form of a mindmap, then I build upon this knowledge during the lesson and consolidate it using practice questions that are good for exam technique and practice.

Kate tutored me in GCSE biology, chemistry and maths during year 10 and 11. Her patience and skills helped me to achieve grade 9's in these subjects. Kate's teaching made me more knowledgable and confident in the areas I struggled to comprehend, and I began to enjoy these subjects more, ultimately choosing to study them for my A-levels. I would recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing tutor!
