About Roshiva

I’m Roshiva, a fifth-year medical student at UCL with a First Class Honours in Biomedical Science. Teaching has been a true passion of mine for over seven years, and I feel fortunate to support students in Biology, Maths, and Science as they grow in both skill and confidence. I began tutoring at 16, soon after my own GCSEs, and since then I’ve worked with students of various backgrounds and abilities, including those with SEND, which has helped me adapt my teaching to suit each student’s needs.

My teaching style is warm and encouraging, focused on making complex topics approachable and relatable. I believe that learning should be a journey where students feel supported, engaged, and confident in their abilities. My experience in medical school brings added depth to our sessions, and I love inspiring students to see the excitement in these subjects. Whether it’s preparing for exams, mastering difficult concepts, or building study skills, I’m here to help students reach their goals in a calm, enjoyable way.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy staying active and finding balance through the gym, meditation, drawing, and badminton. These hobbies keep me grounded and help me bring a calm, positive energy to my lessons.

About the lesson

In my lessons, I aim to make Biology, Maths, and Science engaging, accessible, and enjoyable for students of all levels. I teach across KS2, KS3, GCSE, A-Level, and 11+, tailoring each session to meet individual goals and learning styles. We start by setting clear objectives, and I introduce concepts through simple explanations and real-life examples to bring the material to life. I encourage questions and critical thinking, creating an interactive environment that builds confidence and a deep understanding.

Throughout each lesson, we focus on exam strategies and techniques, learning how to approach different types of questions and maximise points. At the end of the session, I provide a summary of our progress, highlighting strengths and suggesting areas to focus on for next time. This structured approach ensures that every lesson builds on the last, keeping students motivated and steadily progressing toward their goals.
