About Isla
I am a 19 year old university student studying Mathematics and
I truly believe that everyone has the ability to succeed and excel at school!
I have studied, and tutored, in both Scotland and England, and experienced many different methods of teaching in both school systems. I have found that it is often taught that in order to do well at school you have to spend hours and hours sat down at a desk working, and essentially not have a life outside of studying.
My aim when tutoring, as well as furthering your understanding of Maths, is to show that this is not true! It is so important to understand yourself and the simple ways that work for you that will improve your performance and time at school.

I offer Mathematics tutoring for those studying for exams (National 5s, Highers, GCSEs, A Levels) and young people who have not yet started their exams.
I offer 1-3 hour lessons depending on your specific needs, but will do longer or shorter on request!
I greatly enjoy helping people fine-tune their maths and studying skills and I have an 100% pass rate of A or higher for every student I have tutored, as well as achieving all As myself at Nat 5, Higher and Advanced Higher.
When teaching, I focus on what you need and tailor each class to each student. Everyone is different, and the key to understanding and succeeding in Maths, or any subject, is finding the method that works best for you.
I prioritise understanding which areas you are struggling with and help you to break it down and work through it at the pace you find easiest.
I believe in the importance of understanding yourself and what method of teaching and studying most effective for you. It is a life long skill, and mastering it is something that will support you and push you to succeed.
