About Jai
I have spent eleven years teaching Math and have worked with students across a broad range of abilities and ages. My teaching philosophy emphasizes patience, clarity, and adaptability, allowing learners to progress comfortably while developing both skill and confidence. I focus on creating lessons that are structured yet flexible, encouraging students to explore ideas, ask questions, and understand concepts deeply rather than just memorizing procedures. I carefully tailor my teaching to match each student’s learning style and preferences, whether through visual aids, guided problem-solving, repetition, or discussion. My goal is to create a supportive environment where learners feel capable, motivated, and proud of their accomplishments. In my Maths lessons, I integrate topics such as algebra, geometry, middle school math, SAT math, and elementary school math in a dynamic and student-focused way. Lessons begin by reinforcing foundational skills including number sense, basic operations, and reasoning patterns. As learners progress, we cover algebraic expressions, equations, geometry applications, multi-step word problems, and SAT-specific strategies. Lessons emphasize reasoning over memorization, with guided practice and real-world examples that make mathematics relevant and engaging. Students are encouraged to approach problems methodically, analyze each step, and build problem-solving independence.
Advanced sessions focus on connecting multiple areas of mathematics, tackling complex multi-step questions, and applying strategies in varied contexts. I aim to foster both skill mastery and self-confidence, helping students develop a positive, resilient approach to learning maths.
