About Maren
My journey in mathematics began with a love for patterns, numbers, and problem-solving challenges. Over the past nine years, I have not only strengthened my own understanding but also refined my ability to communicate complex ideas in simple, relatable ways. I understand how confusing mathematics can feel for students when concepts are rushed, and that motivates me to create a steady, supportive learning experience. I adapt my teaching methods to suit individual learning styles, whether a student responds best to visual explanations, step-by-step demonstrations, or repeated practice. Patience is at the heart of my approach, and I always aim to uplift and encourage rather than pressure. My goal is to help students recognise that intelligence is built through consistency, effort, and guidance. Beyond teaching, I regularly explore new problem-solving techniques and learning strategies to keep my skills sharp. Mathematics, for me, is a lifelong discipline that strengthens resilience, logic, and confidence—and sharing that transformation with students is incredibly fulfilling.

Mathematics is a subject that challenges the mind while sharpening problem-solving skills and logical reasoning. In my lessons, students are guided through concepts in a calm, structured, and encouraging environment that removes the fear often associated with numbers. Each idea is broken down step by step so learners can truly understand the reasoning behind it, rather than memorising formulas. I encourage questions, curiosity, and open discussion, helping students feel safe in expressing confusion or uncertainty. Over time, this approach builds comfort and confidence, turning frustration into motivation and progress. Lessons are designed according to the student’s current level. Beginners focus on core foundations such as number operations, fractions, decimals, and introductory algebra. Intermediate students strengthen skills in linear equations, geometry, ratios, and data handling. Advanced learners engage with trigonometry, complex algebra, and calculus-based concepts. I also support students with homework, test preparation, and strategic problem-solving methods to help them improve both speed and accuracy. As students become more confident in their mathematical abilities, they begin to develop a deeper sense of self-belief. Maths becomes less intimidating and more empowering, allowing them to approach other academic challenges with the same discipline and clarity of thought.
