About Lawrence
I have a BA in mathematics from the University of Virginia and am a current 1st year medical student at GWU. As my first year has wound down, I’ve found I have extra time and missed getting to work with students to better their understanding and the opportunity to learn more in the process. I truly value helping students not just succeed, but enjoy the subjects they engage and consider myself a lifelong learner. I try to meet students at their level of understanding and over years of studying, have found a variety of helpful tricks and tips with regards to standardized testing and math that make the learning less about repetition and rote memorization and more about understanding and applying core concepts. All in all, I am not going to force an agenda, I more so enjoy learning and helping others learn :)

I have prior experience tutoring at high school and college level mathematics, science, and college prep/ assessments. I’m also happy to work with your style of learning and through my own education can help you incorporate many helpful resources such as free college and high school level practice tests and questions, Khan Academy, Quizlet, and various YouTube channels to better enable you to learn with and without direct tutoring. As, with my previous clients, I make myself available to answer questions or set up last minute sessions via email and text and do not mind putting in the extra work to help you succeed!
