About Ali

I have always been fascinated by the beauty and intellectual challenge of mathematics. I find that using basic mathematical tools to tackle even the most intricate problems triggers a unique feeling of gratification, especially when it is complemented with a sense of primitive accomplishment; this makes me feel that I can conquer the world with mathematics. Being able to reach the same result using several different methods; collaborating and engaging with other disciplines; and articulating mathematical ideas to develop greater understanding always fuels my passion for mathematics. One of my biggest goals is to make others know that there is a common language that all living and non-living beings in the universe understand and communicate in, and that language is mathematics. I love teaching; it is my joy, my passion. Being the first to teach, shaping young minds, becoming a key person on their road to understanding always motivates and inspires me to become a better teacher.
I have been teaching mathematics for 25 years . I have worked in private school ,university and online schools in various roles including Head of the Mathematics Department and Head Teacher. I devised mathematical curricula and schemes of work in addition to publishing some maths books. The skills I have gained range from simple class teaching to the more sophisticated coordination and management roles.

About the lesson

“Curiosity is the teacher of knowledge”, and I apply this phenomenon to my teaching. To raise the curiosity of my students, I leave them with open-ended questions and challenge them to discuss their ideas through projects or response papers.
In striving to be an effective teacher, I engage my students through interactive learning techniques As there are students with various learning styles in the classroom (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic), I prefer to adopt all three teaching styles to accommodate all of my students. As new technological improvements are introduced into our lives, I have implemented these advancements into my lessons.
In conclusion, my education background, research and teaching experience has given me the confidence to teach a wide variety of entry to upper level courses. My overall goal as a teacher is to encourage the students to challenge themselves, to question current knowledge, and to be open-minded for interdisciplinary studies, which is considered as a must for successful students.
