About Henry

I'm an undergraduate student majoring in Philosophy and Mathematics at SUNY New Paltz, with several years of tutoring experience in mathematics and French.

I'm detail-oriented, patient, and deeply committed to teaching and research, with plans to pursue a Ph.D. to further explore mathematics and philosophy.

Some of my favorite subjects include calculus, ordinary differential equations, symbolic logic, philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, and French!

On a personal note, I enjoy practicing (and teaching) yoga and meditation. I love to hike, spend time in nature, and ride around on my rollerblades.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I take into account what the student is learning in their class and I use my experience and prior knowledge to explain the material in an understandable way, while meeting the student where they are.

My background in analytic philosophy has strengthened my ability to identify and clearly communicate the fundamental concepts behind mathematical ideas, helping students build stronger intuition and deeper understanding.

If we have covered all the required material for that lesson, I give the student a head start on what might come up in class later in the course so they are more prepared to face it.

Perfect! I did not think my 13 year old son would connect with a tutor, thought this would be a waste of time, but my son works very well with Henry and we hope to keep him around for a while, thanks for everything Henry!

I have a hard time retaining and understanding materials in class especially when it comes to stem related classes. I have had plenty of tutors throughout my academic years and Henry is by far the most thorough, patient and understanding tutor I have ever had. I am able to grasp a complete understanding of topics and not just a partial understanding, which is common for me in my classes. He understands how I learn and try’s to and use my natural thought processes in order to explain things to me. Overall he is an amazing teacher! He has helped me with many different classes throughout my years in college such as ordinary differential equations, calculus 1,2,&3, linear algebra, physics 1,2.
