  • 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

I had started to have an interest in tutoring, especially for Mathematics, from school as I am one of the mentors to my classmates
that had been appointed by my teacher in Additional Mathematics. Start from there, I had grow the feelings to share my thought and process
on how to handle and solve any question that is related to Mathematics exactly as I manage to successfully answer it.
  • 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

The subject that I took interest in tutoring such as Mathematics, either Algebra, Calculus related, or Chemistry. The reason why I like to teach Mathematics
is because Mathematics taught us how to think critically in many situations and conditions. Mathematics also can sharpen our mind by always thinking to solve
questions by using the fundamentals that we learn in the class. Besides, Chemistry is a subject where you can observe a lot of reactions from the experiment. It
will give us joy and excitement once we can see the result that involves colour changes, proving the presence, and the reason why those things happened.
  • 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

My role model that gives me a lot of inspiration would be my mother as she was also a Mathematics teacher before retirement. The way she calmly thinks to solve
anything that involves Mathematics inspire to also be an educator. Furthermore, Teacher Leesa is also my role model in education as she has the passion
to guide students in any age ranges, nationality even language difference. She is also one of the ambassadors to Superprof that gives me the reason to be one too.
  • 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

A good tutor should have a big patience inside their heart as an example for a Mathematics teacher, some students need to take a few more explanations in order for them
to understand. A good Mathematic teacher would be explaining in another approach or different style to make sure the student still can get the point. Moreover,
a good tutor also needs to explore endlessly the method to teach students easier, interactive in a fun way, not simply as old school that only depends on slides.
  • 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

In secondary school, I have been appointed to be a mentor to my classmate for an Additional Mathematics subject. I have managed to tutor him for his obstacle
in answering the question until he managed to improve in the real exam. The method that I carried out just directed him to the idea on how to implement
his fundamentals in a specific topic to tackle the questions.
  • 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or are still facing in your subject?

The most recent challenge that I have to face is the pattern of the question that uses real-life application as the situation. This challenge really gives me chills
in bones and would make me sit and think of the idea to solve it. However, it is not breaking my spirit in solving it, even giving me more hype and
desire to conquer the question. The tip is not to get nervous about the question even if it consists of a complex displayed figure or a long statement question.
Secondly, as a tutor, it is also required to be well prepared before starting the class as it will reduce the confidence level of the student towards us.
  • 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

My passion should be anything that need tutoring that Mathematics involved as I have grew with the enthusiasm since I young.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions :-P) ?

In my opinion, the Superprof term can be applied when we can obtain the acceptance by everyone that we are really expert in certain subjects and also can guide others to be one too.
