About Ben

I am a First-Class Pharmacology graduate and Distinction-level Master of Research (Neuroscience) student. My current research on stroke is being prepared for publication, and I am now preparing to begin a PhD. While I pursue the next stage of my academic career, I’m offering tutoring to share my knowledge and help students succeed in their studies. I achieved top grades at GCSE (all As in Science, Maths and English) and went on to specialise in biology, chemistry, and neuroscience at university. This background means I not only understand the content students are learning but also how to explain it in a way that is clear, engaging, and exam-focused. Outside of academics, I’m a keen guitarist and have spent time at university playing for the homeless community — something that has taught me the value of patience, empathy, and connection, qualities I bring into my teaching.

About the lesson

I achieved straight As in GCSE Sciences, Maths and English, followed by a First-Class BSc in Pharmacology and a Distinction in my MRes Neuroscience. I now offer tutoring for students who want to strengthen their understanding and improve their grades in GCSE Maths, English, and Sciences as well as A-level Biology and Chemistry. My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals: • Building confidence with tricky concepts • Practising exam technique with past papers • Breaking content down into simple, memorable steps • Stretching high-achieving students beyond the curriculum I teach both online and in-person (Worthing and surrounding Sussex), with a friendly, approachable style that helps students feel confident while making real progress. As well as academic tutoring I also offer beginner/intermediate guitar lessons at a discounted rate.

I worked with Ben in a research lab, where I was consistently impressed by his intelligence, patience, and ability to explain complex ideas with clarity. He has a natural gift for breaking down difficult concepts in a way that makes them accessible, and his enthusiasm for learning is infectious. These qualities make him an excellent tutor in A-Level sciences, maths, English, and history. I’m confident his students will benefit greatly from both his academic ability and his supportive teaching style.
