About Lola

I have a first-class Music degree from Oxford University (2020). I have been giving private lessons for over three years. My tutoring experience has covered saxophone lessons, clarinet lessons, GCSE Music and Grade 5 Theory tuition. I have tutored from the ages of 10-18, and happy to tutor from beginners up to undergraduate level.

About the lesson

Having taught both instrumental and academic lessons, my tutoring style is creative, imaginative and invigorating. My teaching approach is very student-centred, focusing the direction of tuition on the student and their individual needs. In general, my lessons begin with a short warm-up activity, such as a recap of the previous session, followed by the primary tuition, and then finishing with a recap of the lesson.

Lola has taught my son on a number of occasions for music theory to support him with his music GCSE. Lola is extremely knowledgeable and is a natural teacher. She is able to explain things in way which means he understands. Afterwards he always says he understands the topic. She tutors in a way which is creative, is based on a high level of knowledge about her topic. My son also enjoys the session which is really important! I highly recommend Lola

I found Lola's references in a local social media musicians group. Lola thought my daughter Elena Music Theory to pass the ABRSM grade 5 Music Theory test. Elena passed the exam with a very good mark and learnt a lot with Lola's lessons. Lola was reliable, very focused and taught Elena all the important and difficult tools that help with the resolution of questions and exercises so they can be solved in an easier and faster way. My daughter loved how she presented the topics and enjoyed the lessons very much. I would recommend Lola to anyone wanting to learn music.
