About Scarlett

I am a 17-year-old, currently studying for my A-levels in chemistry, maths, and computer science. I have completed my GCSEs with a grade 8 in both maths and chemistry. I aim to tutor students so that they can get their best possible grade, without feeling drained and exhausted after endless hours of revision. I want to minimise burn-out, while still having students feel pleased with their progress and confident going into the exams. As a person, I am described as bubbly and easy to get along with. Although I can come across as shy, I am a lot of fun to be around. I am very understanding and I can come up with new approaches for the same problem, which means I can adapt easily to different students' ways of thinking.

About the lesson

Typical length of a lesson is 1-1.5 hours. My teaching technique will be as follows: - First lesson is to see what the student already knows, to get an idea of their current understanding and how they answer questions. This will be in the form of a test paper covering all topics - Second lesson is to go through their paper with them and help them understand where their marks come from, and any alternative approaches - Third lesson and more will be going through one topic for the first half hour, then practice questions for the remaining time I aim to make learning fun and enjoyable for the students, and to help them feel more confident when answering questions.
