About Zeynep

As a Robert College graduate currently studying Mathematics at the University of Bristol, I combine a strong academic background with practical tutoring experience and a personalised teaching approach. My goal is not only to help students achieve excellent exam results but also to help them enjoy mathematics and develop the confidence to tackle challenging problems independently.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to help students truly understand mathematics rather than simply memorise formulas. I believe every student can succeed in maths with the right guidance, especially those who have lost confidence or feel that mathematics is not their strongest subject.

I have experience tutoring students with a range of learning styles, including students with special educational needs. This has taught me the importance of adapting my teaching approach to each individual. I am patient, encouraging, and committed to creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.

For students who struggle with mathematics or find it intimidating, I focus on building understanding from the ground up. I explain concepts visually using diagrams, graphs, and illustrations, and I relate abstract mathematical ideas to everyday situations so they become intuitive rather than overwhelming. Instead of encouraging memorisation, I help students understand the reasoning behind each method, allowing them to solve unfamiliar problems with confidence.

Every lesson is personalised to the student's goals, current level, and learning style. We begin by reviewing any areas of difficulty before introducing new concepts, followed by guided practice using carefully selected exam-style questions. Throughout the lesson, I emphasise problem-solving strategies, logical thinking, and exam technique. Students also receive targeted practice and constructive feedback to reinforce their learning between lessons.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes and are available online. I teach GCSE Mathematics, A-Level Mathematics, A-Level Further Mathematics, and AP Calculus AB & BC. My lessons are suitable for students preparing for examinations, aiming for top grades, or simply looking to build confidence and develop a deeper understanding of mathematics.
