I was recommended Imani by a friend, who spoke highly of her vocal teaching.

Imani is professional, personable, patient and understanding, and has the ability to explain technique and concepts very well, from basic to advanced. Having had a number of lessons, I can safely say she’s a fantastic and inspirational singing teacher, with great technical knowledge as a foundation for much of her teaching.

Specifically, she helped me learn how to better control my breathing, pitch, and tone, as well as the importance of specific warmups before singing.

I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a vocal teacher, whatever their skill level!

Working with Imani in one-to-one lessons has not only helped me to understand my own voice but has also massively boosted my confidence to the point where I was recently able to perform live, for the first time, after working with her. Imani creates a comfortable atmosphere in her lessons so that I am never embarrassed and feel safe to explore the full range of my voice.
We have worked on all sorts of techniques together from understanding how to utilise the natural cry-tone of my aspirate voice, all the way through to belting – a skill I never imagined would be possible for me. I am incredibly proud of how much my singing has improved since starting lessons at the beginning of this year and am amazed by the confidence I have gained from her encouragement. In my first lesson, I was anxious to sing in front of even one person, but only 8 months later, was able to perform to a room of over 60 people! I am incredibly grateful to Imani for her help on my journey as it just wouldn’t have been possible without her!
I now have a full repertoire of songs that I am comfortable singing and performing live and have an in-depth understanding of how each one should be approached in relation to my own voice. Imani provides detailed explanations of what is happening within the body when I sing and has taught me exercises to engage the specific muscles and mechanisms that are required to produce the best sound, without ever damaging my voice.
I cannot recommend her teaching enough to anyone who has struggles with their confidence but wants to perform live, anyone who wants to practice and improve specific skills for their voice, or anyone who just wants to sing as a hobby as the lessons are also fun and enjoyable. Imani is a wonderful teacher.

Imani is a fantastic teacher. She explains the in depth details behind vocal training, but in a way I can really understand and helped me visualise what the process was. She makes you feel really comfortable and won’t stop until she sees progress! A really fantastic tutor that helped me progress from almost no singing ability to playing huge shows!
