About Samantha
I wasn’t always great at math, but I’m the kind of person who loves a challenge — so I majored in math for my undergraduate degree and went on to earn a master’s in math and education. I’ve spent the past 6 years teaching math, including a year in Costa Rica, and my approach is completely student-centered. With me, there’s no memorizing and repeating formulas — instead, we focus on understanding the why and how behind the math. My goal is for every student to leave each session feeling clear & confident.

My teaching method is rooted in a student-centered approach, focused on building confidence and understanding through clear explanations, visual models, and guided practice. A typical lesson includes a quick review, targeted instruction, and problem-solving tailored to the student’s needs. I work with grades 5–12, covering topics from pre-algebra to calculus. I tutor first year college students as well! What sets me apart is my calm, supportive approach that helps students develop both their skills and confidence in math.
