About Monique

Coming from a family background of soul/funk singers, Monique has been singing since she was 5 years old. She’s professionally trained in opera, choir, and musical theater. Her singing experience throughout the years has been diverse, participating in heavy metal to soul, Jazz, to pop bands. She was a part of the NYC Music scene for 5 years singing for an electronic band named “Sappho’s Journey.” On her yogic journey that began in 2014, Monique learned bhajans and mantra singing and soon became a teacher of these techniques and others for individuals and groups.

About the lesson

Connecting each student with Pranayama breathing techniques from Vinyasa yogic training (200hours) to learn how to use the ear . As well as teaching basic repetition in understanding what to listen to while singing.
Teaching each student vocal warmups, breathing techniques, and providing artists for inspiration for homework based on the students needs , and on what I hear vocally ( please note each class curriculum may change based on the students need to learn) .
