About Paramjot

Param can be a feminist.
Param can be a Bharatanatyam dancer, an economist, or a physicist.
Param can be everything she wants.

She’s right on the edge of turning legal this summer, equal parts super excited and low-key nervous (documented, of course). Because if there’s one thing about Param, she writes. For over six years now, she’s been journaling, especially in that colorful leopard-printed journal of hers. And when life gets a little too loud, she writes letters to God. Recently, she became Times of India 18U18 Budding Journalist Winner for her appearance on NDTV and her on-the-ground metro station initiatives. Sometimes, it feels a little daunting for her to be the youngest in rooms filled with people from the UN, UNESCO, and YuWaah, but she still shows up, asks the “dumb” questions, and slowly paves the way for herself anyway.

A science enthusiast, Olympiad winner, and teacher for children with special needs. She scored 95%+ throughout school, including 97% in Grade 12 English. Some achievements are listed below.

1. Times of India 18 under 18: Awarded the Times of India 18 Under 18 in the Budding
Journalist category for contributions addressing gender equity and humanism.
2. Mukhyamantri Vigyaan Prateebha Pareeksha Qualifier: Qualified for the Junior
Science Talent Hunt Examination, securing Rank 66 out of 20,617 students, and was
awarded a ₹5,000 grant by the Department of Education.
3. Asian Space Settlement Design Competition: As part of Team Resonance, we
represented India at the ARSSDC Nationals in Dubai with a Mars Settlement mission for
2080, focusing on sustaining life by integrating human factors with engineering solutions.
Further qualified for internationals at John F Kennedy.
4. Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Awardee: A consistent awardee, earning Bronze
(2022), Silver (2023), and Gold (2024).
5. Oxbridge Essay Finalist: Shortlisted among the top candidates for the Oxbridge
Essay Competition (Mathematics), for an essay on proving the irrationality of √2, a
concept introduced in Grade 10.
6. SPACE India GAM Month Runner-up: Selected as Runner-Up in the Astropoetry
category at Global Astronomy Month 2023.
7. Accepted to Yale Young Global Scholars: Accepted to Yale Young Global Scholars
with a full scholarship; unable to attend due to travel constraints.
8. Accepted for NASA Internship: Selected for a NASA-affiliated Data Science Analytics internship at George Mason University.
9. Nominated for Bal Puraskar: Nominated for the Bal Puraskar by the Ministry of
Finance and the school in the Humanitarian Service category for advocacy work
supporting children with special needs.
10. International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition Bronze Awardee:
Awarded a Bronze Honour in the International Astronomy and Astrophysics category
(2023).
11. Wisci Girl Up South Asia Camp from the United Nations: Selected among 100
girls from the US, Maldives, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and India to attend a fully funded
STEM camp in Kochi, Kerala, under the United Nations Foundation.
12. Finalist Crimson 18u18: Finalist in the Humanitarian Service category of Crimson’s
18 Under 18 awards.
13. Youth Speaker at All India Radio: On 4th May, I had the honor of speaking at Akashvani Bhavan about Gen Alpha youth and sharing my personal journey.

About the lesson

Hi, I am PJK, a Times of India 18 Under 18 awardee and a recent speaker on All India Radio. Incoming Bachelor of Science student at the University of Melbourne.
I teach Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and English up to Grade 10.
I was ranked 66th among 20,617 students in a STEM Olympiad conducted by the Delhi Directorate of Education and earned a Distinction in the International Economics Olympiad.
Dw, my teaching style is simple: life lessons, a few rants, and plenty of case studies.
