About Jennifer
My name is Jen, I am 18 years old and I'm from Melbourne, Australia I graduated high school at the end of 2023 with my overall mark in the top 5% of the state. I studied 3 different maths classes including many different subjects and areas of study. (Number theory, Algebra, Calculus (including anti-differentiation and implicit differentiation with graphing), Statistics, Probability, Algorithms, Vectors, Trigonometry, Complex Numbers, Matrices, Data, and Financial Mathematics to name a few!) Next year I will be studying a Bachelor of Science majoring in Applied Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Melbourne. Currently I'm on a gap year and am travelling around Europe after completing a summer working as a Camp Counselor in Ohio, USA! I have a federal police check. I am happy to provide this as well as proof of my marks upon request

Practice makes perfect! After explaining the concepts, I will supply sample questions to work through together. Including worded and more complex problems. I will help you improve speed and accuracy when approaching new questions. My lessons are best suited to students between the ages of 7 and 16, who are taking school mathematics subjects. I can teach up to high school level Calculus, Trigonometry, Algebra, Probability and Statistics.
A typical lesson will involve beginning with a recap of previous concepts to ensure a continued understanding of each area of study that a student has previously covered. This is vital for improving students' overall strength in mathematics and their ability to grasp new ideas and theory. Then, we will discuss new concepts, building directly on knowledge the student is already comfortable with, in order to prevent confusion or frustration. Then, by starting with easy examples, we move into practice problems and more complex worded problems that involve multiple areas of study or a student's weaker areas. Not all practice has to be question after question though, I also believe that intertwining concepts with a student's interests is important. This can come in the form of games or real world examples.
