About Farhana

I am the Head of Mathematics at a private school in Ontario, where I teach both the Ontario and IB curricula. With eight years of international teaching experience, I bring a passion for mathematics and a commitment to student growth. My teaching journey began in Thailand, where I taught at an American international school in Bangkok and eventually led the Mathematics department for four years within an IB framework. I then moved to Dhaka, where I taught Pure Mathematics and Additional Mathematics at a British international school. These diverse experiences have shaped my ability to lead, inspire, and deliver high-quality instruction across multiple academic systems.

About the lesson

I believe that each and every child is different, and patience is the key when dealing with students who are struggling in mathematics. It is entirely normal for students to feel intimidated by mathematics. Therefore, my goal is to help students fall in love with mathematics again.

I possess teaching experience in MPM2D1, MCR3U, MDM4U, MCF3M, MCV4U, and MHF4U. As an examiner with the IB Board and with two years of teaching AP Calculus, I am well-versed in instructing Mathematics across the Ontario, AP, and IB curricula.

My background in engineering not only enhances my comprehension of the subject matter but also enables me to articulate complex mathematical ideas in a manner that resonates with students. Furthermore, my Master's in education contributes valuable pedagogical insights and strategies to my teaching approach.
