About Mary
I have enjoyed working as personal representative for the C.E.O Gaeaou for their wildlife conservation and child sponsorship in Kenya. As advisory board member for CATCH Global foundation I have pioneered school recruitment for introduction of health curriculum in Kenya, fundraising and government relationship to see the approval of the health curriculum by CATCH global foundation. At gaea advised on a possible charity scam where gaea was able to recover all their funds and rechanneled to other more transparent organizations. As the lead counsel at Mbichire & Co. Advocates I negotiated in rent disputes for our clients during the Covid 19 Pandemic Crisis where I saw accrued rents being reduced to a tune of 60% and monthly rental bills reduced by 70%. I have also successfully litigated in matters concerning children, probate and dozens of civil and criminal cases.
I am a pioneer by heart and have from a young age had strong sense of responsibility and desire to make things happen and to see change. While at The Catholic University my sponsor went into a financial hardship and I was able to quickly think what I can do not to terminate my studies. Its then I came up with a canteen that sold food to students during my free time and was able to relieve him on my maintenance costs. At the Kenya National qualifications authority I was able to lead my team to the development of a learner’s database and though I didn’t have a computer science background was able to organize the team and together we brainstormed ideas and divided the work and each team came up with a full database making the work easier for the developers. This made me aware of the importance of transformational leadership and that the development of my team members is my responsibility.
I am very practical hands on person and I believe in sharing and multiplying skills and talents. As soon as I finished my advocates training program I was convinced the skills I had learned needed to be taught to others and together with a team of 15 other students we embarked on free legal clinics in Kiambu where we gave free legal consultations in churches and also visited prisons. At the global goodwill foundation was voted to lead human rights docket.

I am a dedicated, ambitious and goal driven teacher committed to maintaining high standards of education. I am highly motivated, flexible ensuring every child’s learning style is addressed. I have superior interpersonal skills ensuring great relationship with learners. My goal is to combine my experience with my goal to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, intelligent teacher who with make positive contribution in the lives of learners.
I generally begin my classes with the end in mind that is thinking of what I would want my students to know or be able to do. I design my assessments and instructions so that they help me and my students reach a goal. I have developed effective learning techniques and instructional methods, which have allowed me to educate all styles of learners, and foster fun, engaging and a positive learning environment.
I try to create connected lessons that incorporate reading, writing and Maths with science or social studies. I use different methods of teaching such as direct instruction, student centered small groups or student led teaching. The instruction design is more effective after ascertaining the goal. For example if I want a student to improve more on writing, then my instructions will be more centered on the writing process and debates so I can achieve both verbal and written skills.
The look of excitement lighting up a child’s face, that instant understanding and signaling of the passage of knowledge, the joy and sense of accomplishment is what propelled me into the teaching career. I develop a personal understanding of each student’s unique needs by seeing and assessing every student as an individual and my lesson plans are structured to accommodate multiple intelligences.
I ensure that all my students are able to grasp learning concepts and enhance personal skills by providing interactive learning centers, hands-on manipulative and interactive activities. I utilize these strategies to introduce new concepts, establish a connection between the class and everyday life, and to foster and engage learning atmosphere.
I have great research and analytical skills that have helped me meet the current needs of the students. Times have changed and as a teacher I have to keep abreast with emerging academic trends both nationally and internationally so that my students can compete well with their global counterparts.
I have strong leadership skills, capable of getting the best out of students and nurture their talents by identifying their skills and coaching them into using them as daily lifestyle skills. I have strong communication skills with a cross cultural experience hence able to have a direct and personal connection with students from different cultures. My networking skills have come in handy in maintaining meaningful relationships long after the goal is met.
