About Emmy
I am a recent graduate and I have a degree in biochemistry. I have worked on a wet lab biochemistry research thesis project and have communicated my findings at several conferences. I have a strong background in science and have the skill set to effectively communicate it to maximize your understanding of the subject matter you require guidance in.

My teaching methods are engaging and enriching. While I am flexible to the specific needs of the student, I make sure that every student understands the foundations of science before methodologically building upon it to ensure depth and breadth of understanding that will help them in their school settings but also set them up for future pursuits of chemistry. In a typical class, I first go over what the student is learning at school and focus on the areas the student need help with. Then I work with the student to determine what needs work (eg. Brush up on concepts or connecting the concepts with application). Then we work through it together with a plan tailored to the student’s learning style. What makes me special as a teacher is my education background and research experience in science that gives me a deep understanding of biology that will help me mentor my students. These classes are meant for any students of any grade who need extra help in chemistry.
