About Orko

I understand what it is like to, either struggle with a topic or excel and try to push for the very top grades and, as I have done with my siblings, I will be able to support you regardless of your academic desire. I am a sixth form student with a strong academic background, having achieved Grade 9 GCSEs in Maths and Chemistry and currently working towards A predicted grades*. As I have recently completed these qualifications myself, I understand the challenges students face and can explain concepts in a way that is clear, relatable and easy to understand.

Alongside my studies, I have volunteered in a primary school, supporting younger pupils with their learning and helping to build their confidence in the classroom. I have also volunteered in a care home, which has strengthened my communication skills, patience and ability to work with people of different ages and backgrounds.

I am reliable, organised and committed to helping students make progress at their own pace. My goal is not only to improve academic performance but also to help students develop confidence in their abilities and enjoy learning. Every lesson is tailored to the individual student, ensuring they receive the support they need to achieve their goals.

About the lesson

I attend Queen Elizabeth school, the most competitive school in terms of 11+ and have achieved Grade 9 GCSEs in Maths and Chemistry as well as currently studying at sixth form with predicted A grades*. In addition, I have experience volunteering in a primary school, where I supported younger pupils with learning activities, and in a care home, which helped me develop patience, communication skills, and the ability to work with a wide range of people.

My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs and learning style. I believe that building confidence is just as important as improving grades, so I aim to create a friendly and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

For Maths and Chemistry, I start by identifying any gaps in understanding and then explain concepts clearly using worked examples, diagrams, and practice questions. I encourage students to think through problems step by step rather than simply memorising methods. As students become more confident, I introduce more challenging questions and exam-style problems to strengthen their understanding.

A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although shorter sessions can be arranged for younger pupils. Lessons usually include:

Reviewing previous topics and any difficulties
Learning and practising new concepts
Working through example questions together
Independent practice with guidance and feedback
A summary of key points and areas to focus on

I highly recommend Orko as a maths teacher.He tutored me this year for my gcse maths and has pushed me to the point where im getting 8s and 9s in past papers from the 5s i was getting at the start of this year!He is very patient with students and helps them work up levels,building both problem solving and an understanding of all of the content.He is very dedicated and very passionate about maths as well and i think is an excellent tutor,and went out of his time to tutor me in person despite his AS level exams, showing how passionate he is about helping others.
