About Shafkat

I’m a passionate and patient teacher who genuinely enjoys helping students grow in confidence and ability. Education has always been important to me, and I love seeing the moment when something finally “clicks” for a learner who may have been struggling before.
With over 10 years of tutoring experience and nearly 5 years of classroom teaching, I’ve worked with a wide range of students, including those with additional needs. My role in a specialist SEND/SEMH school has helped me develop a calm, flexible, and understanding approach. I know that every student learns differently, and I take pride in finding methods that work for each individual.
I’m friendly, encouraging, and believe that progress comes from building trust as well as knowledge. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and to leave lessons feeling more capable than when they arrived.
Outside of teaching, I’m always looking for new ways to make learning engaging and relevant, so lessons feel less like a chore and more like an achievement.

About the lesson

My lessons are personalised, structured, and designed to build both confidence and understanding. I have over 10 years of tutoring experience and nearly 5 years of classroom teaching, currently working in a specialist SEND/SEMH setting. This means I’m highly experienced in adapting learning for students of all abilities, including those who need extra support, reassurance, or a different approach to succeed.
I tutor a range of subjects including Maths, Further Maths, Science, and Geography, and I focus on helping students truly understand topics rather than just memorising facts. Lessons are interactive and broken down into clear, manageable steps to avoid overwhelm and build steady progress.
We begin by identifying strengths and areas for development, then create a plan to target gaps in knowledge and improve exam skills where needed. I provide structured activities during lessons, helpful resources, and optional homework to reinforce learning between sessions.
Most importantly, I create a calm, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing in confidence. My goal is not just better grades, but more independent, resilient learners.
