About Ty
I love working with students in all levels of math courses and helping them to reach their goals and master their course material. I have tutored alongside pursuing an education and working in STEM for the past 18 years.
I graduated from Xavier University with a degree in math. While at Xavier I worked at a math software company that made Louisiana standardized testing prep software. I went on to receive a Master's degree in Biostatistics from Emory. After Emory I became the Math Lab director for Xavier University. My staff tutored students in classes from Developmental Math to Calculus 3. I have taught everything from honors middle school math to high school AP classes, and college math courses.

My teaching methodology is to meet students where they are, help them identify goals, and help them make plans for practice, support, and success. I like to focus on developing problem solving skills, because this increases a student's aptitude in any math course and their math skills in general. To me, math is an active subject, I believe most students learn best by doing and I encourage my students to be active participants in their learning.
