About Ava

I recently graduated with a First-Class degree in Music Performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where I studied under Sophie Grimmer. My musical journey began at the age of four, and I went on to receive a scholarship to the Junior Royal Academy of Music. Since then, I have performed in a variety of settings, including The Royal Albert Hall, Shakespeare’s Globe, Cologne Cathedral, Garsington Opera, The Sheldonian Theatre, and The Old Naval Chapel. My operatic experience includes roles in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges, Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Gluck’s Iphigénie en Tauride and Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel.

About the lesson

Hello! I’m Ava, a soprano and music teacher who is passionate about sharing the joy of music with all ages, abilities and backgrounds, and I love helping people discover their musical potential, build confidence and express themselves creatively.

Alongside my performance experience, I am passionate about helping musicians develop their skills in an encouraging and supportive environment. Whether you are taking your first musical steps, developing your vocal/violin technique or preparing for a performance, I aim to make every lesson enjoyable, engaging and tailored to your individual needs.

I incorporate principles of Alexander Technique into my approach, helping students develop greater awareness of posture, breathing, balance and movement. I adapt my teaching to suit different learning styles, abilities and goals whilst creating a positive space where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
Outside of teaching, I love exploring improvisation and poetry which continues to inspire my creativity as a performer.

Families can expect patient, enthusiastic and personalised teaching that nurtures musical curiosity, builds confidence and, above all, makes learning music a rewarding experience that you can take through all aspects of life.
