About Saida

I am a dedicated STEM tutor with a passion for empowering students to become confident, independent learners. I hold an Honors Chemical Engineering degree and bring over six years of professional experience in the manufacturing and tech industries to every session. My approach is unique: I don't just teach the material; I teach students how to learn it. I focus on building strong foundational knowledge alongside essential study skills, time management, and problem-solving strategies. This ensures success not only in their current course but prepares them for the rigors of university and lifelong learning. I have experience tutoring all ages. I am comfortable and experienced tutoring all levels, from elementary school students building their first science fair project to university students tackling advanced calculus. My goal is to make STEM engaging and accessible for everyone.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology is adaptive and student-focused:

- For Younger Students (K-8): I specialize in making STEM subjects engaging and less intimidating. Sessions are interactive and fun, using relatable examples, games, and visual aids to build a positive relationship with STEM subjects. Focus is on foundational mastery and curiosity. I provide support in all math and sciences, including homework help, test preparation, and reinforcing classroom learning.

- For High School Students: Lessons are structured around the Ontario curriculum (e.g., MCR3U, SCH4U, SPH4U). We focus on mastering the material while simultaneously developing the effective study habits, time management, and exam strategies needed to excel in higher education and become a lifelong independent learner. I provide support in all math and sciences, including homework help, test preparation, and reinforcing classroom learning.

- For University/College Students: I provide tutoring in first-year courses, including Maths, Chemistry, and Physics, and upper-year courses for Chemical Engineering. We dive deep into course material, focusing on problem-solving techniques, theoretical understanding, and application. I act as a coach, guiding you to think like an engineer and develop independent learning skills.

- For Everyone: I prioritize identifying and filling knowledge gaps, creating a supportive environment where questions are encouraged, and tailoring my approach to each student's unique learning style.
