About Tina
I'm a Jersey Girl, who loves math. I want each and every one of my students to succeed. I know that math can be scary and/or frustrating to a lot of students and my job is to help my students overcome their fears and realize that everyone can be good at math.
I've always loved math. I can't remember a time when I didn't, and I love sharing my love of math with others and encouraging them to at least not hate it.
I began tutoring when I was in college. I also worked as a Teaching Assistant while I was working on my Masters. I love teaching. There is nothing more rewarding than a student moving on successfully, especially if they now feel confident in their skills.
I have a Masters in Math. My undergrad degree was also Math with a minor in Chemistry. I have taught or tutored all levels of Math, middle school through college, as well as high school chemistry and college Chem I & II. I have also taught the math portions of GRE prep classes and the math and science portion for PRAXIS prep classes.

I try to make them comfortable and see if I can determine where they are having trouble. I want them to not necessarily love math but feel comfortable with it.
I have worked with students in middle school through grad school. I have taught all levels, basics skills through Calc. I have worked with students with ADHD, Aspergers, and Math anxiety. I have no preference as to the type of student so long as the student is willing to learn.
Make sure you feel comfortable and not overwhelmed with your tutor. Math is overwhelming for a lot of students and is difficult when you cannot connect to your tutor.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Try to know yourself. It is easier for a tutor to help if you know where you are getting stuck. Don't worry if you aren't sure though, a good tutor will help you figure this out. Also, what is your goal for the tutoring? Are you simply trying to pass the class that you're in, get better grades, or build the skills to be able to take your next class? Do you have math anxiety, ADHD or some other special needs that your tutor should know about to be able to help you and understand you better?

Tina is very knowledgeable. She was very patient with me, she found different ways to make math fun. If you're looking for a great tutor... she's the solution to your problems.
Sometimes you are so lost that you don’t feel like can even explain your dilemma to somebody. She gets it like telepathy! I didn’t have to spend too much time explaining where I’m at before she would take over and break it all down into pieces that walk you back up to an understanding. She took the time to explain principals in various methods to reach me and understands tutoring is more that coming to the answer but walking forward with building blocks.
I'm not even kidding when I say I used to cry in math class before I met Mrs. Miles. She helped me to understand and break down the steps to solving a problem. I made it through all my college math classes with skills I needed to obtain my associates degree. Thanks again!
I loved that she was very patient with me. Math was and still is not my favorite subject but, she helped me understand it like no one else could.
