About Raav
I provide all of my students with specific, tailored advice on all homework problems or questions they may have. I also provide study tips, test taking strategies, and exercises for all my students to use and practice when they are on their own. And I do all of this at a discounted price.
I love being able to help someone improve in a subject that so many people struggle with. Math causes people so much stress, so to be able to help someone feel even just a little more confident in that, means the world to me.
I got started teaching when a couple of my brother's friends needed some math help. Then, word of mouth kind of grew, and now I have multiple students who I help in a variety of subjects, although it mainly centers around mathematics.
I have been tutoring for 4 years now, from 7th grade math to AP Calculus. I usually tutor around 4 hours a week, with some weeks being a little more or less than others. I have always done very well with math, and have taken classes in high school such as AP Caluclus AB, Multivariate Calculus, and AP Physics (Calculus Based), so I have a wide variety of math training.

I will first introduce myself and explain my experience to them in person. Then I will ask them to speak about how they've been doing in the course, and if they have any specific things they struggle with such as focus or procrastination. Finally, I'll have them show me what they're working on now, what their confidence level is in it, and then we'll go from there
I have worked with kids as young as 7th grade, and as old as high school junior. However, I have always tried helping people in my own classes as much as possible, and have even helped peers who are now in college with their schoolwork.
I would make sure to look for someone who truly cares about the subject, as well as their students. Someone who has a passion for teaching, and speaks about it, not just someone who is good at it and lists all of their accomplishments, because that caring and attention to detail will be so much more valuable to your learning than anything else.
A recent event I am fond of is finding out one of my students more than doubled their previous test score. Calculus is a subject that doesn't come as easily to them, so to see them improve as significantly as that in such a short amount of time brought me great joy.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They should think about if they have any struggles with focus or procrastination or mental fatigue, as those require specific studying methods that the teacher should know about. They also should think about what style of teaching fits them best, whether they are a visual learner, a tactile learner, or an auditory learner. And finally, they should always come with specific questions, as that will always make the session as effective as possible

Raav helped me with my business calculus class. He helped me understand problems by walking through them step by step and went at the pace I wanted. I highly recommend!

The harder the subject, the more I charge. So I start at $25 an hour for anything below algebra. Then from algebra all the way up to pre-calculus, it is $30 an hour. And finally, anything calculus or above is $35 an hour. I keep the prices relatively cheap because I believe money should not be a restriction to anyone for a good education.
