About Lauren
I am a Yale Graduate with a focus on tutoring math and science. In addition to tutoring in high school and college, I have been tutoring for over 10 years in New York City.
I enjoy helping students understand math and science. I work with them to understand the patterns and connections between different concepts to help deepen their comprehension and improve their retention. I ask questions and draw parallels to earlier ideas to help them connect new information with the ideas they already know.
I know the formats of the SAT, ACT, and AP tests very well and work hard to demystify these tests so the students feel confident and prepared on test day. I work with students preparing for all sections of the test or individual parts depending on need. We focus on test taking strategies, deconstructing how the test asks questions, and strengthening understanding of the content. For AP tests I make sure we review both the material from class and also the way the test expects students to apply that knowledge.
