About Yafee
My service stands out because I truly enjoy connecting with the student in a one on one atmosphere. It's a pleasure to not only share my knowledge with the students I interact with, but to also gain new perspectives and information myself from their lives. I have been a tutor for Varsity Tutors company for most of my tutoring career, and have interacted with many students from ages (10-65). I am able to deduce a problem very quickly and engage in solving it to the best of my ability. However as a tutor is it imperative to understand that what we know may not be exactly what the student knows. Therefore, I have developed a logical method of teaching where I convey to my students the information in a manner they will certainly be able to grasp.
Current Status:

- Currently Florida Atlantic University (FAU) student majoring in Computer Engineering: Entering junior year.
- Proficiency/Skills in C, C++, Java, Assembly Language, All levels of math up to: Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus (over four years of experience).
- Achievements/Certifications: AP Scholar, International Baccalaureate Graduate, Adobe Dreamweaver & Photoshop certified.
As a student and personal tutor, there is nothing I enjoy more than the feeling of having a student acquire knowledge previously unknown to them. The feeling I receive when a student is struggling mightly on a problem, and when I am able to make them understand the issue; it brings an indescribable feeling of achievement for not only the student but also myself. I am very passionate about the subjects I teach. When my students are able to share this same passion of acquiring knowledge, it forms a bond of understanding between the student and the tutor.
As mentioned in a previous question, I once had a teacher named Mr. Sorbi back in the middle school I attended. Mr. Sorbi was dear to me not because he was just a great teacher, but because he cared for me on an individual level (which is what I strive to accomplish with my students). Mr. Sorbi taught Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1 Honors. Entering Eighth grade, my previous teachers decided to drop me down from entering Algebra 1 Honors to Pre-Algebra for Eighth grade (personally I don't know why). And when Mr. Sorbi saw me in his Pre-Algebra class, he realized I understood a lot of the material and was getting bored in the class. So he took it upon himself to speak to the principle in an attempt to change my class from Pre-Algebra to Algebra 1 Honors. This was something I've never seen before. Mr. Sorbi as a teacher saw me individually amidst a room for 20+ students and attempted to solve my dilemma without me asking. Entering Algebra 1 Honors (which is a fairly difficult course at that age) I knew I had to try my hardest because I realized my teacher believed in me, he gave me motivation by trusting in my abilities, and there was no way I could let him down without feeling guilty. I attempted my hardest in that course, and that's how I grew to love acquiring knowledge. It's this feeling of knowing someone is willing to help you learn, inpire, and trust you that made me wish to fulfill this role with other students.
I am currently a Florida Atlantic University student who is entering his third year of Computer Engineering. I have experience in Integral and Differential Calculus (over four years of experience), Discrete mathematics, Differential equations, and have had very high scores in all my high school mathematics. I have been a tutor for over a year now working under the Varsity Tutors platform, where I've gained a breathtaking amount of experience working with students of all kinds from ages 10 through 65. In this time, not only have I worked with students of different age groups, but also students with disabilities or other minor illnesses. This experience has vastly helped me realize the differences in behavior pertaining to acquire knowledge for students of different age groups, their attentions spans, their adaptability, and other aspects that are important to cater to an individual in an attempt to teach.

When I first work with a student my main goal is not to start off by trying to be "the tutor." That is not the sort of way I like to interact with my students. I like to first familiarize with my students, understand the situation they're in with the subject they'd like to develop a wider scope for. Then I like to proceed to understand their expectations, what they are looking to achieve with our time, and afterwards we begin working on ways in which they can adapt quickly to the knowledge I will share. I like to see myself as more of a guide rather than a "tutor" the term tutor is very vague. I like to see myself as a guide because there's this one term my middle school Algebra 1 teacher always told us (he was the one that inspired me to get into the field more on that later), "You can lead a cammel to water but you can't make that cammel drink." And in relation to the situation I see with my students I always will lead them to understanding knowledge to the best of my abilities granted they have a desire or passion to learn. I also gauge how much my students have a motivation to learn before teaching them, and if they lack in that criteria I always inspire them to reach for greater heights.
Various types of students at various ages from 10-65. I've worked with students who are diagnosed with ADD, and ADHD. Students who may be unmotivated to learn among other things. And in doing so, I realize everyone is different in their approach to learning. No two students will understand through a singular approach, therefore I specialize in identifying how a student can best understand and create a plan of teaching in a particular method.
One very important advice to students looking for tutors is that it's not all about the price and qualifications. I wholeheartedly believe that when sharing knowledge the most important factor is compatibility. Is your tutor providing you with learning gains? Are you compatible with his approach? Are you able to decipher what he wants to teach you? This is by far the most important property when assessing tutors. There is absolutely no benefit to having a tutor who is more qualified but unable to successfully pass knowledge or ineffectively pass knowledge. Even if one tutor may know a great deal, the more important factor is whether or not this tutor can relay the information to the students so they can know for themselves. Therefore, I always attempt to assess how I personally can approach the students learning before actually tutoring the student. If I'm unable to effectively pass knowledge to a certain individual, I will relinquish my position in tutoring them.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
1.) Is this tutor's personality welcoming and open?
2.) How qualified is this tutor in helping me? (as aforementioned qualifications should not be the main focus of selecting a tutor, but there has to be a sort of ability the tutor must possess in order to relay information in the first place).
3.) Am I able to adapt to this person's methodology?

He is an excellent tutor! I used to struggle with math and understanding geometry and algebra. I had a low grade in my math class and did not know what to do.
