About Pamela

My service stands out because I love to help others and make sure everyone achieves their goals successfully. I have been tutoring many friends and family for about 5 years now in different things. I also would help out my classmates in highschool which was about 8 years ago or so. I am bilingual so I know Spanish proficiently. I have always been very interested in math and have been in math competitions as a child as well.

I got started when multiple classmates in my high school would ask for my help. I decided to go ahead and help whoever I can in order to make sure that no one gets left behind.

My family is all Spanish and it is spoken in my household. Therefore allowing for Spanish to constantly be a part of me as it was my first language as well. In regards to math, I have excelled in it all during high school and undergrad.

About the lesson

My typical process for working with a new student are to observe how the student comes to their answer. If it is wrong I bring them back to their steps and will ask them what they would do differently in the spot that tricked them. I try to ask them questions to get them to the correct answer rather than giving them the answer.

I have worked with children, high schoolers, and college students. I have been open to work with any type of students that I can help to excell in anything they need help with.

Advice I would give would be to make sure that they read reviews on the teacher they are looking to hire in any area. Even if there is one bad review it does not always mean that the teacher is a bad teacher, it could have been due to many reasons.

A recent event I am fond of is when seeing my family all pitch in to help out my mother after having a surgery that did not allow her to do many things. She was made to stay in bed in order to recover and seeing us each help her out was something I am very fond of.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Questions students should think through before talking to teachers about their needs would be to think about exactly what areas they are struggling with. The students should not go up to ask what the answer is but should rather ask how the teacher was able to get to their answer to help the student find a way to get their on their own. The students should try to figure out what type of learning style is better for them and to ask if the teacher can explain it in their specific learning style.
