About Kevin

As a current college student, I wish to inspire and aid the next generation of students in gaining a passion for learning. Throughout my high school years I tutored numerous students on this subject and helped them achieve both higher test scores and academic scores overall. Briefly, some of my qualifications are that I was a finalist at the AMC 8 math competition, my SAT math 2 subject test score was a 790, my SAT score is a 1530 (800 on math, 730 on reading/writing, 24 full score on essay), my PSAT score was a 1490 (National Merit Finalist), and my ACT score is a 36 with full marks on each category. I enjoy being able to make a difference in the lives of young scholars. As a parent, you put your trust in me to ensure that your child's needs are met and working with great young students is truly a humbling and satisfying experience.

After graduating high school, I realized that I really enjoyed working with other students, especially younger ones because I feel like I can make a difference in this world by helping the next generation of students achieve their goals!

I have tutored students in the past through both math clubs during high school and through online means on other platforms during college so far.

About the lesson

I like to first get an understanding of what specific issues the student requires help on. Upon the first meeting, I would have them bring a couple questions they are having problems with and work through the questions with them step by step. Their understanding is just as important as a grade so my job is only complete if they are able to remember and apply the knowledge to future instances!

I have worked with students from those on academic probation to those simply looking for a little boost in their studying for tests like AP Calculus, the SAT, and the ACT.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I hope students should ask themselves: What is it exactly I need help with? and Have I tried every method I can already? Being specific and coming to a teacher only when you can absolutely not figure the problem out will greatly help a student grow overall.

Kevin was a perfect tutor for my son. He used to struggle in his Pre-Algebra classes, but with Kevin's help my child managed to raise his grades to constant A's.
I hope to enroll my younger daughter in the same service later on.
