About Umar
I graduated Staten Island Technical High School in June of 2015. I am currently attending Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at the City College of New York. My favorite subject was always, and still is, mathematics. The art of being able to come to one concrete correct answer, regardless of your approach to a problem, has always left me awestruck.
I had been working with a tutoring institution since the beginning of 2016, and that is where I learned of my passion for tutoring. Anybody can be good at school. Everyone learns the same material, but in different ways, affecting how much one is able to retain what they have learned. The difference in how information is conveyed to students, is the sole reason for why certain kids perform better than others. Every student has a different way in which they understand and learn. In a classroom setting however, teachers are unable to convey their lessons in a manner in which every student is able to understand the material, which is where the importance of having an experienced peer tutor comes in.
I have been able to pass all of my mathematics courses and standardized exams to almost perfection.
