About Sadie

I am offering 1 on 1 online tutoring in the subjects of elementary math, science, english, and social studies. For grades 6-8 I offer tutoring in the subjects of chemistry, biology, algebra, geometry, english and history/social studies.

Growing up I always dreamed I would be a teacher someday, probably because I enjoy working with kids so much. Then, in high school I grew to love my science and math classes and decided to pursue a degree in STEM. Although I love what I am studying and the work that I hope to do in the future, I hope that I will be able to pursue a teaching career later in life. Until then, I would love to have the opportunity to assist your child in their studies.

I am currently in my senior year at the Univeristy of Texas at Austin studying Nutrition and minoring in Sociology. My next step will be attending graduate school to focus on humanitarian aid and/or community nutrition. With semesters of attaining University Honors, my eagerness to learn, and my passion for working with kids, I feel well equiped to tutor your child.

I have always enjoyed nannying and teaching dance routines/class to children. It is so special to see a child's confidence build when they realize they can learn/do difficult things.

About the lesson

Your child is unique and has specific needs for achieving their goals. Each student has a style of learning that is most productive for them, therefore each student requires a tutoring process that is individualized.

Upon meeting new students I ask that they provide me with their academic strengths and weaknesses, their preferred style of learning, and their goals for the tutoring process. Visual, verbal, logical, and musical methods of teaching are easy to transition into an online format, however, many students are physical, or "hands-on" learners. I will work my best to accomodate to your childs preferred method of learning.

I am very flexible and enjoy being creative, I look forward to working with you and your child in creating a tutoring plan that serves them effectively.

Although I have no formal tutoring experience, I have held several nannying positions in which I would frequently help the children with their studies.

I have been a dancer for most of my life and have experience working with large and small groups of elementary school children to choreograph and reherese dance routines.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
When you don't understand a subject, learning the material can feel very overwhelming. It is important to slow down and identify where you are getting stuck. Of course this will help the teacher in properly assisting you, but it will also allow the student to focus more specifically on what is challenging them and create a less daunting perception of their work.
