About Samantha
I am experienced and knowledgeable about tutoring and the subjects I tutor. I've taken a rigorous course load of AP and Honors classes such as AP Calculus AB and BC and Pre-calculus, so I am ready with my notes and information to help you with the same classes. I've also tutored math for both middle school and high school, so I have experience in how to work with different age groups! I am flexible, energetic, and patient, and I will provide you with the best service possible.
I love seeing the smile on a kid's face when they have their "AHA" moment. For some kids, it takes a while for a topic to click and they get upset and frustrated that they don't understand it. Tutoring gives them the one-on-one instruction they need to finally grasp the topic, and the moment they do is what makes the work so great.
I am a high school student who tutors regularly with the National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society, as well as through a program called Read and Feed and on my own outside of school. I have tutored all elementary school grades under the Read and Feed program, and have tutored in middle school and high school grade levels on my own and in the honors tutoring programs.

The first step is always an introduction to help a new student become more comfortable and shed some of those first session jitters. Then comes working on understanding what they know and where they might need help. I usually like to have them do some practice on their own with little guidance just to get a feel for how they approach problems without my help and where any problems might lie. And then, I like to help them ease into tutoring, so as to not make them feel like they can't do anything right or that they get no ownership of their own education. With enough patience and some independence with guidance, the student becomes more comfortable and starts to work on actually mastering the skills.
