About Brianne
I am a Special Education Teacher with 5 years of teaching experience, but 15 years experience working with children as a Teaching Assistant, Coach, Tutor, and Volunteer.
My strength is differentiating instruction and material for students who struggle. I am adept at presenting lessons in different ways so that students can learn and express their learning in a manner that suits their learning style.
I believe in putting the student first, building their self-esteem while helping them learn.
I hold New York State Certification in Students with Disabilities grades 1-12 and English grades 7-12.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Science degree in Special Education.
I frequently take Graduate level classes in Early Childhood Education, Adolescent Education, and various content areas as well.

I like to speak with parents first before meeting a new student, this way I am able to learn some background information about the child or teenager I will be working with. In my first session with the student, I will devote the first half of our time to learning about how the student feels about their strengths and needs and what goals they have for tutoring. I will ask parents and student to bring the schoolwork they are struggling with but I will also provide supplemental materials to assist the process.
