About Robert

Robert Sherber started his musical journey with bass lessons at the age of 14. By the age of 16 his career as a professional musician was launched, playing popular songs in local venues. Robert attended Dillard School of the Arts, and was a member of the school’s Commercial Music Ensemble. In 2005 Robert was hired as a sideman for TK recording artist Clarence Reid, which led to 6 tours of the United States and Canada, including performances at the CMJ Music Conference in New York City and the South by South West music festival in Austin, Texas. In 2010 Robert was asked to perform in Australia with Mr. Reid at the Big Day Out festival, which included stops in Auckland, New Zealand, and the Australian coast.

After earning his Bachelor's degree in jazz performance from Florida International University, Robert was hired as an instructor for the School of Rock, teaching his love for music at two of the school’s locations. This summer found Robert completing his second tour with Blues guitarist Joel Dasilva, which included performances at the Montreal Jazz and Blues Festival, Mont Tremblant Blues festival, as well as a performance at Buddy Guy's Legends in Chicago where the legendary guitarist sat in with the band. This fall finds Robert continuing his studies in jazz as a graduate student at (FIU). Robert continues to fuel his passion for music, currently dividing his time between his studies, live performances, and his students.

First I will ask the student what they want to achieve from the lessons. Than I can start to create a program for that particular student to help achieve their goals.

I have worked with students as young as 5 years of age, teenagers, and students in their 40's and 50's.

Know what you want and try to have realistic expectations, most of all, have fun!

Whenever a student has that lighbulb moment when I know that they have made a breakthrough and I can see their excitement.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What do I want to learn? Where do I want to be a year from now?
