My primary objective as a tutor is to establish an educational setting in which students are enthusiastic about conquering the obstacles they face in their chosen area of study. I employ a variety of teaching methods, including inquiry instruction, direct instruction, and personalized instruction, depending on the student's learning style. Being a recent graduate from a 4-year degree in physical education and coaching and a lifelong learner, I possess a passion for learning and teaching. A basic lesson plan will consist of the following: 1. Relational chat with the student to understand how they are feeling and what goal(s) they wish to accomplish in the session. 2. Review of past session’s key points or content that is challenging from school classes 3. Session’s Objective: a. Introduce the topic or focus of the session. (Optional: show student a sample of the work they will be doing today.) b. Use leading questions to activate key prior knowledge and aid students in making connections to the current subject matter. c. Establish today's learning aim aloud and maintain a written version visible and accessible throughout the session. 4. Main Lesson: Describe the steps involved in applying a formula, provide a textual sample of how to create or evaluate a certain type of information, or explain a thinking process through a series of questions. 5. Formative Assessment: I will utilize an "exit ticket" to allow the learner to demonstrate their mastery of the tutoring session's topic. I recognize that each student has a unique method of learning and remembering content, which I will include in their lesson plan to help them be successful in the classroom and outside. The lesson plans are intended for students in grades 1–10.
