About Lavenia

Hey there! My name is Lavenia, and I am so excited to tell you about myself and why I would make a great teacher.

First of all, I am passionate about education and love working with students of all ages. I believe that every student has the potential to succeed, and I am committed to helping each one reach their goals. With numerous years of experience in maths, chemistry, physics, and Chemical Engineering subjects, I have developed a deep understanding of how to engage and motivate students and how to create an environment where they feel safe to take risks and make mistakes.

For my professional background, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, focusing on nanotechnology and technopreneurship. After I graduated, I worked as an R&D Specialist for a Philippine-based global food FMCG company. Now, I'm a graduate student in the Master of Management for Engineers program of CQ University at their Brisbane campus.

About the lesson

In my tutoring sessions, I will begin by assessing the student's current level of knowledge and understanding of the subject matter. This will allow me to tailor my teaching approach to the student's individual needs and ensure that we are building on a solid foundation. I will also take into account the student's preferred learning style and incorporate appropriate teaching strategies into our sessions.

Once we have established a starting point, I will begin teaching the material in a clear, concise, and engaging manner. I will break down complex concepts into smaller, more manageable pieces, using real-life examples to help the student relate to the material. I will also provide plenty of opportunities for the student to practice applying what they have learned through exercises and problem-solving activities.

At the end of our sessions, what is important to me is that the student came out with better confidence towards the topic thanks to the knowledge I imparted. Courses are hard, and I know the feeling of going to lectures where everything goes out from one ear to the other. So, it's imperative to me that our sessions will be a safe space for them to learn and make mistakes.
