About Michael

I have more than 12 years of tutoring experience teaching Maths at levels KS1 KS2, KS3, GCSE, A Level and University Year 1 and 2. I can be able to help with Maths contact me to arrange the lessons. Enthusiastic Tutor serving the student!

About the lesson

I am an experienced Maths Tutor serving the student at any level and I will be happy to help you. I am a good listener, methodical and I love Mathematics. I have more than 12 years of experience in tutoring maths 1 to 1 at all levels KS1, KS2, KS3, A level and university Level (UK). I also have experience with Grade 5, Grade 7 and Grade 10 (US) For each lesson I send notes and I also provide workbooks and homework! My methodology is tailored to each student's needs and the progress is monitored regularly. I am very confident with the methods I use as I tutor at different levels which means I can choose the right level for the student based on student needs. I follow a simple approach in teaching Maths I teach in a clear simple style and I make sure the student understands by testing. I plan my lessons in advance based on student needs! I am flexible, I can do practice based on exam papers for higher levels or I can also do individual lesson plans for any topic on lower levels. I am confident with all levels. For every lesson I send notes and homework the following day. In my free time I enjoy going to the gym. I also enjoy decorating my flat and also cooking!

Michael teaches our son maths for his year 2. My son is autistic but Michael knows how to assist my son and always patience with him . My son has problem getting distracted but Michael make sure that my son understands and do it correctly . My son was struggling at school with his maths but with Michael help he is already improving and so far they had 4 lessons . My son will carry on learning with him . I can’t recommend him enough .

1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?
I had a strong interest in Mathematics since a child and this was reflected on my performance in School. When I was studying for my A levels then I had that instinct or desire to become a Tutor /Teacher of Maths.
2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).
Mathematics is a precise subject and it is built on Methods that are used in different professions and in our everyday life. I am comfortable in tutoring all levels and I have no preference. I am fascinated with Algebra and I love tutoring all topics.
3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?
My role models were my Math teacher and tutor in secondary school who had the passion to teach in a way that was simple for me to understand and helped me to improve my performance.
4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?
A good tutor MUST love the subject he is teaching.
5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.
Keep your life Simple. This is the same approach I follow when I tutor Maths. Simplifying is a skill that is very useful in Maths and in our everyday life.
6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?
I face all difficulties as a path to improving my tutoring methods as I aim to provide the best service possible to any student.
7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?
Teaching is one of my passion another one is dancing or cooking.
