About Eliora

Hello! I am a Math tutor with an MSc and over 4 years of experience helping more than 200 students achieve their mathematical potential at GCSE, A-Level, and university level. I cover the complete Mathematics curriculum — Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Vectors, Matrices, Statistics, Probability, Mechanics, and university Pure Mathematics — and I tailor every lesson precisely to the individual student's exam board, syllabus, and specific learning needs.

What I am most proud of is not just the grade improvements my students consistently achieve, but the transformation in mindset I see in students who arrive believing Math is simply beyond them. Watching that belief change — through clear explanations, patient encouragement, and repeated small successes — is the most rewarding part of my work, and it drives everything I do as a tutor.

About the lesson

My Math teaching philosophy is built on the principle that genuine understanding must always come before speed and fluency — and that once real understanding is in place, both speed and fluency follow naturally and reliably. I begin every student relationship with a diagnostic assessment to pinpoint specific gaps and misconceptions, then build a personalized learning plan that addresses those gaps systematically, moving from foundational concepts to more complex applications in a clear, logical sequence.

For every topic I use a three-stage teaching cycle: clear and intuitive concept explanation using multiple approaches until the idea truly clicks, worked examples with explicitly narrated reasoning so students can see my thinking process in detail, and independent practice with guided feedback so students build genuine confidence in applying what they have learned. This active approach builds real understanding rather than passive familiarity with procedures, and the results across my students are consistently strong.

Exam technique is a major and ongoing focus in all my sessions. I teach students how to present working clearly, structure multi-step solutions logically, approach unfamiliar question types without panic, check answers efficiently under time pressure, and use mark schemes to understand exactly what examiners want to see. Past paper practice under realistic conditions is a central part of my preparation approach for every student.
