About Cynthia

Hi there! My name is Cynthia, and I am currently a Postgraduate student at the University of Melbourne with a First Class Honors average. My academic journey is rooted in the Victorian education system (VCE), having graduated from one of the leading private schools in Melbourne, Korowa Anglican Girls’ School, with an ATAR of 96.55.

I understand the pressure of the VCE system firsthand. My strongest subjects were Chinese First Language (Study Score: 48) and Japanese Second Language (Study Score: 46), where I was honored to be the Dux of my school. These results reflect a deep, technical understanding of what it takes to excel in both SACs and final examinations.

Over the past 5 years, I have dedicated more than 600+ hours to tutoring students across primary, secondary, and VCE levels. I take immense pride in my students' success; many have gone on to achieve 40+ study scores and 95+ ATAR results.

My approach goes beyond mere content delivery. I focus on:
- Strategic Exam Preparation: Teaching students how to interpret marking rubrics and avoid common pitfalls.
- Trilingual Communication: I am fluent in English, Chinese, and Japanese, allowing me to explain complex linguistic nuances in whichever language the student feels most comfortable.

My Teaching Methodology
- Conceptual Clarity over Rote Learning: I ensure students understand why a formula works, enabling them to tackle non-standard or tricky exam questions with confidence.
- Step-by-Step Problem Solving: Teaching structured methodologies for breaking down word problems and multi-step questions.
- CAS & VCE Exam Preparation: For VCE General Math, I train students on efficient CAS calculator usage, error-avoidance strategies, and building high-scoring bound references.
- Bilingual Support (English / Mandarin / Japanese): For students who feel more comfortable discussing complex mathematical logic or problem structures with native Chinese or Japanese support, I can seamlessly incorporate bilingual explanations.
- Supportive & Encouraging Environment: I build a patient, low-stress learning atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.

1. Primary School Math (Years 1–6):
