About Amy
I’m a Computer Science major with a Math minor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with over five years of experience tutoring students across a variety of mathematics topics. An AIME qualifier and former member of my high school math team, I’ve competed in prestigious contests such as the Harvard–MIT Mathematics Tournament (HMMT) and MMATHS.
My students have consistently achieved measurable improvements, including higher grades and test scores. Currently, I serve as a Course Assistant for Discrete Structures, guiding students through proof writing and complex abstract concepts, while providing real-time feedback to strengthen understanding.
I bring a combination of competition experience, teaching skill, and a deep understanding of mathematical concepts to help students succeed academically and build confidence in problem-solving.

I have three principles of teaching: be effective, engage, and encourage. I aim to explain concepts in a clear and entertaining manner, giving students ample intuition to engage them with the material.
Having fun while learning is very important! Through games and encouraging students to ask questions, my goal is to help students enjoy their learning.
I give online lessons to students from grades K-12, and teach multiple subjects including prealgebra, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
