About Jen
I have a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Subject Matter Authorization (SMAB) in Mathematics in grades 9 and below. I’ve taught junior high math 5 years and elementary math 5 years as well as 2 years of Reading Intervention in grades K-5. I’ve also had success tutoring for the CHSPE, known as an early-exit exam for High School.

My teaching method begins by assessing the student to determine strengths and weaknesses with the subject matter as well as learning styles. Lesson plans are then developed selecting research based materials. I believe learning math and reading is like learning any sport: practice, practice, practice. I will expect students to practice skills each day between tutoring sessions.
