About Alex
My name is Alex Hobbs, and I'm a high school graduate entering UW-Platteville for Engineering Physics. In my last year of high school I had the opportunity of teaching a computer programming and robotics class. The class consisted of 9 juniors and seniors, and not a single student scored below a 75%. I pushed the kids to devote time into learning a computer language whilst making it interesting enough as to where the students took it outside of class into their lives. This past year and the year before I had the opportunity of being one of a very small handful of students who were the head of the tech department in De Soto Area Schools in De Soto, Wisconsin. All my life I've been considered the historian of my class, the one everyone asked for help, and the one who could bring life to any of my school's rather boring history classes.

I teach by applying it to today's world, and history in particular showing the effects of what happened in the past. One of the brilliant ways of applying the students is based on what is being taught, but in the case of immigration from Europe to America is teaching the students about what the countries their families immigrated from were like during the time. Applying to a student's emotions is an ideal way of catching one's attention. Keeping lessons interesting will be the basis of every lesson while packing it full of information.
