About Orib
Hi, I'm Orib. I am currently a student in mechanical engineering and I have always loved to fuse my passion for teaching and my natural love of mathematics into a solid way of showing others the beauty of learning mathematics.
Before moving to the US, I taught Mathematics, English Language, and English Literature to students from Year 5 through GCSE level in the UK, helping them build and boost both their grades and their confidence. Now I bring that same patient, step-by-step approach to every lesson — breaking down concepts until they actually make sense and are relatable to the younger audience, not just by memorizing formulas. Whether you're catching up, aiming to boost your grade, or working toward a top score, I'll tailor each lesson to what you need. Let's make math feel less stressful and more like a walk in the park!

My approach is pretty simple: Student needs first, development second. My focus for each lesson is to listen and help with what the student is struggling. If a student doesn't know what they are struggling with, I give them a customized test I prepared just for them to try out and see their strength in each topic. If a student has strong foundational/intermediate skills, I coach them to get into the very next step and/or stay at a consistent top level.
A typical lesson plan starts with a quick 5 mins warmup, followed by 5-10 homework review. Later, an introduction to a topic is brought up, where when I am teaching a concept, I always break it down into small steps first — explain the theory so it actually makes sense, give examples and then move on to practice questions. I find this works a lot better than rushing straight into exercises as students perfectly understand what I am teaching and I am always willing to explain the topic again until the student understands.
What sets me apart is that I change my tone depending on the type of student I teach. If they want a fast approach, I explain something fast but efficiently so they are able to look at examples of practice questions. If they want a slow approach, I offer detailed but engaging explanations for avoiding confusion and boredom.
