About Alyssa
Hi everyone! I have been dedicated to studying and understanding math concepts for a very long time now. My goal has always been conceptual understanding and proficiency in applying this understanding to problems and real-life applications. I am working towards a degree in electrical engineering where I have to use mathematical concepts daily to solve real-world applications in electrical and computer engineering topics. I have gone far beyond everyday understanding of math concepts and want to share my tips for learning and understanding math. If math is holding you back in any way, I am confident that I can help you push through your misunderstandings and arrive with confidence to conceptually understand and apply math to your schooling and to your life.
I have held a job since I was 15 years old. I worked in costumer service for several years and transitioned to more technical work at engineering consulting firms when I finished my freshman year of college. I am very professional, but I am also kind, fun, patient, and I really care about your success. I'm here to help, so please take advantage of that! Ask all your questions and apply yourself, and I am sure that your understanding will be so much better.

My teaching methodology includes tailoring my approach to the individual learning needs of each student. I understand well how every person learns slightly differently.
I use a variety of techniques to give students a deeper understanding of a topic : videos that helped me in the past, real-world examples and applications of topics, reviewing the background knowledge needed to understand a new concept, and other tools to enhance student understanding.
A typical lesson plan involves small lectures on concepts giving you the vital information for understanding, and plenty of examples and problems to practice mastering efficiency. These lessons can assist anyone from middle school through college-level algebra and calculus.
