About Olivia

My name is Olivia. I am a high school senior (graduating in April 2024, which is about two years early). I was homeschooled through Acellus Academy, but am now pursuing a year of independent study. I will be attending Barnard College in the fall. In my spare time, I love to read and write. I write creative fiction. I am also passionate about the theater and love to visit cultural sites around New York City. I also play the clarinet, which I have done for about nine years, and like to spend time with my three dogs!

About the lesson

I am student-led in how I approach tutoring. That means that I start by discussing with you what you want to get out of the session. From there, we come up with a learning plan that we worked together to achieve.

Although I am relatively new to tutoring, I have a year of experience working with disadvantaged students in my community - something I was really passionate about.

My mom is also a college professor, so I have grown up around teaching and tutoring all my life, and I am ready to share my passion for learning.

I have known Olivia personally for over ten years. She is completely reliable in terms of diligence, organisation and preparation. She prepares well for tuition and will be able to tailor her tutoring to the student’s particular needs. She will make sure that she is covering the correct syllabus and always ensure that her lessons are well prepared in advance. I highly recommend her as an extremely trustworthy and effective teacher.
